#ILMAEngage Canceled

Dear ILMA Members,

The safety and health of ILMA members is our top priority, and with that in mind, due to the increasing presence of the coronavirus in the U.S., the Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel this year’s ILMA Engage. The decision was an especially difficult one, with differing reports as to the potential threat and spread of the virus. However, Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and a member of the president's task force on coronavirus recently declared that the spread of the virus is only “going to get worse,” and revealed that the mortality rate from it is 10 times greater than the flu. With that information, and ILMA Engage only two weeks away, the decision to cancel became clear.

Registration Refunds

If you have registered for Engage, ILMA will be issuing refund information very soon, with options that include the potential to credit your Engage registration toward the Annual Meeting registration fee. As staff will be working diligently over the next couple of weeks to correspond with every attendee regarding their preferred refund method, you will not have to contact the ILMA office. Please add communications@ilma.org to your address book to prevent updates from landing in spam.

Hotel Reservations
Please note: you must call the Omni Grove Park Inn to cancel your reservation. You can reach them at 1-800-843-6664. ILMA cannot cancel hotel reservations or be responsible for any reservations not canceled by the attendee.

Further Information

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) recently hosted a conference call for more than 1,100 manufacturers regarding COVID-19 and how businesses can best respond to the crisis. You can access the audio from the call here. We also invite you to access NAM’s extensive coronavirus resources, including NAM’s COVID-19 Policy Action Plan Recommendations.

In addition, OSHA has published Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19, which may also help you in deciding how to move forward with your staff in dealing with this pandemic.

Meanwhile, please know that at times like this we appreciate the ILMA family even more than usual and sincerely hope you, your family, your colleagues, and friends remain healthy and safe. We look forward to seeing you at October’s Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, Florida!

With all best wishes,

Chuck Decker
